Mrs. Volta V. McCLAIN, 60, wife of Dale McClaine of Waveland, died Wednesday morning May 10, 1961 at Friendship Nursing Home, Bloomingdale. She was born Feb 25, 1925 daughter of Frank and Sylva Champ EDWARDS. She was married to Dale McClain, June 1, 1925. Prior to her marriage she taught school at Wellington, Illinois Green Township and Waveland. She was graduated from Indiana State Teachers College and attended University of California. She was a member of the Portland Mills Christian Church and Judson Chapter OES. Survivors include the husband; two sons, Larry at home and Maurice New Orelands, La; the mother, Mrs. Sylvia Edwards, Terre Haute a niece and two nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 pm. Friday at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Britton officiating. He was assisted by the Rev. lester Niles. Pallbearers were Kenneth VanHuss; Charles Reeder; Raymond Stanley; Melvin Hesler; Keith Spencer and Carl Leatherman. Music was by Mrs. Forest Coleman.
